Does ranking in this fashion lead to more students attempting to enrol in the best universities, thereby increasing this trend?

Does it only focus on universities' that are very well resourced failing to acknowledge those with better teachers?

Does it neglect the role of funding, as few poor students may attempt to enrol at more expensive, higher-ranking universities?

Are they unintentionally increasing the wealth gap in this fashion?

Can we simply accept ranking methodology?

The point of Oxford and Cambridge Universities is not only the prestige and status of becoming a student there, but the contacts made to ensure success in life. The privileged thereby become more privileged.
