I am currently trying to develop Sp.Ed. - GT inclusive classrooms and lessons, but have realized SIMCOM may be unethical regarding Deaf culture and is advised against when considering the efficacy of language acquisition. Does anyone know of a way to successfully integrate ASL to Gen. Ed. courseware? My intuition is telling me to treat it as an ELL or ESL class, but my main issue is that although ASL is its own language, it may be too enticing for students to incorporate SIMCOM when discussing in class, effectively destroying proper grammar in ASL.
