Are there ASME or other standards for Finite Element Analysis?
Hello my friend.
There are some ASTM standardization to FEM, but focusing in FEM applied to health situations:
ASTM F2996 - Standard Practice for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of Non-Modular Metallic Orthopaedic Hip Femoral Stems
ASTM F2514 - Standard Guide for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of Metallic Vascular Stents Subjected to Uniform Radial Loading
ASTM F3161 - Standard Test Method for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of Metallic Orthopaedic Total Knee Femoral Components under Closing Conditions
There FEM standards to nuclear applications (package, reactor, etc). But specific to each country.
Many standards encourage the use of Finite Elements, but it's very hard to stablish any rules, only if you point what your area of interest.
I hope to help you.
NAFEMS is specialized in providing guidelines (and training) for finite element modelling. They may have what you need.
