I do live cell imaging and want to stain actin and view it under the microscope in the living cells. My challenge is that my cells of interest are primary cells that only survive for up to 12 hours so transfection with actin constructs will not work. I get decent results with a live cell stain for tubulin called tubulin tracker from Invitrogen. Does anyone know of a similar stain for actin?
If conjugated to a fluorochrome, phalloidin oleate should be appropriate for this application but apparently nobody makes it.

you can also have a look on that site, they provide expression vectors with actin fused to several different fluorescence proteins. Maybe this is suitable for you.
