i came across scenario in which the 'case reports' are not included in the number of publication as a promotion criteria in faculty promotion. what is the basis of such implication? are the 'case reports' not research work??
I read the John Hopkins guidelines.. But case series containing more than 3 cases are considered as a research in their university only i guess.. It would not be a universal guideline.. It is not a criteria in BPKIHS i guess..
Reporting of unusual finding -"case report" are better than original article with manipulated/ falsified data with incorrect and biassed statistical analysis. Better than clinical studies conducted on the computer rather than in clinical setup.
