I am attaching images of my cells after DAPI staining. Please tell me if they are contaminated. The problem is when I keep exposure time on microscope as 600 ms, I do not see small dots but when I increase exposure I see so many small dots.

Also, you would notice that there are small dots even when cells are not present.

I have the following doubts:

1. I see large black dots on my cell plates (not sure how they come but due to stress or something, I am not sure). These could be degraded DNA or stuff that cells secrete.

2. The small do not appear in lower exposure (although I do see then nuclei). For eg: for 600ms, there are no small dots but with 1.5s, the dots appear.

I would be grateful if someone can help.

Regards,

Pratik
