Are health workers at risk from a novel coronavirus?
Yes, they can be, as health care workers come into contact with patients more often than the general public WHO recommends that health care workers consistently apply appropriate
Yes, health care workers get exposed to SARS-cov2 as well as whole array of other infectious diseases daily as a part of the profession hazards. They are trained and practice safety measures adequately. But what a health care professional is not trained at is to bear the burnt of the failure of the public policy to contain the infections and the increased menace of workplace violence among the caregivers. Just think them as human, who gets burnout and never as a God. Hope to see a beautiful world someday.
yes very much exposed especially if they are not provided with PPEs and other safety equipment as they do not know when a coronavirus patient will visit their facility
Yes ..... Health workers and doctors can be infected with the virus because they are closer to patients than the general population, and health workers have experienced infections
While new discoveries continue to be made about COVID-19, early reports indicate that person-to-person transmission most often occurs during close contact with an individual infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Healthcare workers (HCWs) are not only at higher risk of infection but can also amplify outbreaks within healthcare facilities if they become ill.
Thank you for raising the topic. In every country, an example can be cited when hundreds of doctors fall ill with covid-19. It's not even a precautionary measure. The virus always finds a gap in protection during prolonged contact. Maybe this situation will change when the vaccine is developed. Regards, Pushkin Sergey Viktorovich
Yes, health workers are very much at risk. In fact, 10% of all infections in the World are health workers. They need protection to help us recover from the disease if you are infected.
Indeed! Health workers are more exposed to the infection bcos they are handling the victims of covid 19. Also, inadequate supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) resulted in high vulnerability of the health workers to covid-19 among other factors.
Healthcare workers have emerged as a vulnerable population group during COVID-19, and securing supply chains of personal protective equipment (PPE) has been identified as a critical issue to protect healthcare workers and to prevent health system overwhelm.
I would even say that health workers are the most exposed to this new coronavirus, because they are in constant contact with the sick. Many were infected, some recovered, others did not survive.
Definitely, health care workers at great risk of developing the infection. As they are getting infection in a setting where the viral load is much more ; they are at risk of getting severe type of infection if unable to take due care.
