If you are adding IL-1 or 2 in such a condition, then fibroblast-derived growth factors KGF/FGF-7 and GM-CSF may remain stable for 2-3 hrs. But addition of KGF and GMCSF may be inefficient to improve stratification and differentiation of cells. Hence, it depends on cells which you are culturing.
EGF and FGF are frequent additives to cell culture media that are used for proliferation of mesenchymal stem cells. From my own experience, I presume that both factors are relatively stable as media containing EGF and FGF can be used for at least 3 weeks when kept at 4°C and medium change for cells growing at 37°C is only needed every two to three days. Without both additives, proliferation would not occur so that I deduce a relative stability from the efficiency of our proliferation media.
Thank you guys for your answers! Right now I keep the media containing EGF and FGF for a maximum of 7 days at +4 degrees, and for the neural progenitor cells, I change the media everyday.
