I'm working on a geotechnical problem of a submerged foundation from a total stress analysis point of view. Since I need to calculate the rate of work of all external forces conjugated to my problem, does it make sense to adopt Archimede's principle of buoyant forces as an external force of the problem?
I'm aware that the effective stress principle is in total agreement with Archimede's principle, so if I adopt the buoyancy force for the total stress analysis, in an effective stress analysis can I disregard it?

The buoyancy force is a surface force - not a volume force like the weight force (gravity). If you submerge a cube, the buoyancy force is the difference between the forces from pressure on the top face and on the bottom face of the cube. Therefore, a fish floating in water is not weightless inside as it would be in the outer space.
Thank you, Manfred, I think understand what you mean, but my question is: If I am to evaluate the rate of work of all the external forces acting on an immerse object being pulled out, what are the components acting conjugated with the pullout velocity? I have doubts about considering or not the water column pressure and the buoyancy force acting on the body.
