The nodes on the left are from the model which I have selected using NSLL command . the list file is the NLIST command . My issue is the NLIST command sorts the node numbers by itself whereas I want node numbers and their displacements as they are in the model itself. So will writing an array still be effective.Additionally I will go through the commands which you have referred in your response.Otherwise I have to manually select them in excel and then make a graph plot of the displacements along the web depth.

As suggested by Claudio Pedrazzi, after selection of specific nodes, you can use NLIST (gives your nodal coordinates) and PRNSOL (gives your nodal displacements for selected nodes). Now your both files are in same order (sorted node number). Merge both files in excel, then sort the whoele data by nodal coordinate (x or y) of your preference. So you can get the solution in desired order.

Maybe it is faster to look at the options (arguments) for nlist command , because it gives you options to "sort" your selected nodes based on 3 consecutive criteria. For instance based on X location, then Y then Z..etc

NLIST, all, , , , X,Y ,Z

Or look at Nsort command sequence as follows, assuming you want to sort the nodes based on value of stress in x

NSEL,... ! select

NSORT,S,X ! sort the list based on values of Sx

PRNSOL,S,COMP ! Lists sorted component stresses

NUsort ! restores the sorting as per node number
