Hi, I am trying to calculate eGFR using MDRD equation which reads like this:
eGFR = 175 * (Sx)^-1.154 * (age in years)^-0.203 * 0.74 (if female)
eGFR = estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate
Sx = Serum creatinine in mg/dL
Someone should kindly use this information to create an excel calculator for me.

So eGFR will be in column A. Data will start in the second row of each column. Column B will be Sx, column D will be age, and column E will be sex (male=0, female=1). Then in cell A2 type in
=175*b2^-1.154*c2^-0.203*.74*d2
If you have doubts as to how this is calculated you can add parentheses just to make sure
=(175*(b2^-1.154))*(c2^0.203)*(0.74*d2)
However, order of operations should make the parentheses unnecessary unless I have misinterpreted the equation.
In the given equation only 2 operation is required: 1) Multiply 2) Power.
For multiplication use *(shift+8) and power use ^ (shift + 6).
There are 4 variable in this equation, 3 known 1 unknown: choose 4 different cell to specify their values
For example:
Cell 1 = 1 Sr
Cell 2 = age in years
Cell 3 = 3 gender value (female = 0.74)
Cell 4 = 4 eGFR
Write formula in Cell 4
= 175*cell1^(-1.154)*cell2^(-0.203)*0.74*cell3
@Yusuf, the parenthese about the exponents are not needed, though they might make it easier to read. Also, thank you for getting me to look at the equation again. I made a small mistake. The result from my answer will be eGFR=0 if male, and the result of the equation if female. You too made a small mistake. It is unclear what happens with males, and if Cell 3 has 0.74 every time there is a female then the equation will use 0.74 * 0.74. The correct answer would be to use =175*cell1^-1.154*cell2^(-0.203)*cell3 where cell 3 is 1 if male and 0.74 if female.
