I have an old Olympus IX70 inverted fluorescence microscope and need to get a copy of the manual for its fluorescent light source (it is a separate manual from the microscope manual). I had a copy but it has been lost. I haven't been able to find a copy on the Olympus website or elsewhere on-line. If anyone has a copy or knows where I could get one, I would really appreciate it. Do you have the part number for the power supply or the lamp housing? We have a BX series compound Olympus microscope that may have the same parts (according to Olympus website).
Otherwise, there is this pdf I found on line for one of the power supply/lamp housings that work with your microscope. Most of the mercury lamp housings are pretty similar in operation, though.

If worst comes to worst, and Olympus can't help you, try McBain Instruments in Chatsworth, CA. Before Olympus went to direct sales, the lab I work in purchased their Olympus equipment there. I think they still have a lot of vintage parts.

Jill, Thank you so much. This will be very helpful. I've contacted Olympus (no response yet). I'll check the housing for model numbers when I get back (stuck in Dallas at a kid's soccer tournament this weekend).
