First, do not do PhD by publishing papers because you are severely limited in what you can write and a proper PhD is more detailed and creative. You can publish as papers later anyway. Second, do not ever form a support group, or collaborate with anyone. This is because you must keep your data confidential until well after your defence, otherwise it will be stolen for sure. Hope it goes well :)
yeah I a have done Master of Philosophy, in Sociology. I want to carry on my PhD under full scholarship. If the Opportunity available Please let me know, that i prepare the relevant documents for that, I have also publications.
I think it is ok to publish papers on sections or results linked to your PhD. It will only strengthen your case for demonstrating novelty if a paper is accepted in a good quality journal or conference (peer reviewed). One thing discussed in the VIVA is the Novelty, so showing you've published papers related to your topic will help with this, IMO.
I think it is ok to put a support group together. If the group is discussing PhD layout, Chapter Structure and Thesis Structure. Hints and tips on referencing, literature review, ethics, statistics support, etc. Like Andrew stated you wont want to discuss the detailed results but in terms of how the work is structured, I think this is fine.
I wish to recommend to my friends both of who have multiple data and articles prepared but not yet published. Which area are you looking. My friend's thematic areas are: (1) Gender, Climate Change and Dry Lands Livelihoods; (2) Pre-schooling, Urban Planning and Social Dysfunctions in Big Cities.
