Would someone be so kind and provide the information regarding which European centers/institutions(if any) measure concentrations of sodium benzoate in serum/plasma? We have a patient with nonketotic hyperglycinemia who happens to be the rapid metabolizer based on the cytochrome P450 testing.
Germany now has a network for rare diseases which possibly can assist: https://www.research4rare.de/en/centers-for-rare-diseases/ . If there should not be a specialized institute, I'd suggest contacting the department of clinical chemistry at any university hospital and ask them if they can help or know someone who could help.
Otherwise, from a technical POV, any lab with an HPLC should be able to measure benzoic acid, as long as they/you are willing to set up the method.
