I am starting a biogeography study of Coccoloba uvifera in the new world tropics and I came across two mycorrhizal studies on this species. One was an Ecto and the other was an AMF. Is it possible that this species forms associations with both types of mycorrhizal fungi? If so, how common is that? I have experience with AMF, but I do not recall any literature suggesting you can have both. I follow some of the big time NA mycorrhizal people on Researchgate, so hopefully one of them can chime in on the topic.

Several very common tree species may have both types of mycorrhizae, for example Eucalyptus and Populus spp. are usually colonised by both types of mycorrhizal fungi. The following paper is a good source to check which mycorrhizal types are usually present on several hundreds of species:
