I´m working on a protein complex bigger than 1500 kDa and search for protein marker to detect the protein complex on SDS or SEC. Any suggestion is welcome.
Dear Janko,
Titin is the largest known protein with a MW of 3 to 3.7 MDa. You can find more detailed information in this publication:
Opitz et al. Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2003 Oct 28; 100(22): 12688–12693
Best, Murat
Dear Murat,
thanks for the suggestion and the publication link!
Have a good day, Janko
Hello
For SEC analysis you can also use dextran blue as a marker. It has approximately 2000 kDa of molecular mass
Best regards
