Looking for peer review medical journals, preferably pubmed registered, that are either free or charge a low publication fee (around 50 to 100 USD), and hopefully has a high acceptance rate (at least 50%)
I think it would be easier to answer if you specify which field of medical research?
Also, acceptance rate of 50% is really high. My experience is that journals with high acceptance rates are usually journals that have high publication fees and poor peer-review process.
Well medicine in general for the time being. Ah I see. So what is the ideal acceptance rate of a reliable peer reviewed journal with reasonable publication fee?
I can't speak for medical journals specifically, but non-selective journals (plosone, nature reports etc.) Tend to have around 60% acceptance rates.
If the journal is selecting for impactful research (e.g. avoids publishing negative results etc.) Then 50% would be a little low but otherwise it seems reasonable. I find scirev very good for picking places to submit to if that helps!
Thank you for your input. For me it will be realistic to publish smaller articles, such as mini review and commentaries, in less prestigious journals with higher acceptance rates and lower publication fees.
