I need an animal model to induce perinatal specific area brain injury which reduce neurodegeneration by maternal injection of a substance during pregnancy that induced brain damage in embryos and then fetuses born alive. I searched and found Lps and alcohol which induce prenatal brain damage, but I need a model which affect a specific area of fetal brain such as hippocampus or cortex. it is my honor researchers who work in this field help me to find an appropriate model.
You can try the Levine-Rice model of neonatal hypoxia-ischemia. It´s not 100% selective, but is more than LPS injection.

Would you consider using a chicken embryo in a egg? That is probably a classic, easy and cheap model to inject neurotoxins to the brain.

Dear Maryam, if you want to induce well controlled lesions in specific brain targets, the stereotaxic techniques will be quite useful. You can induce a lesion of wanted extention by electrolysis, freezing, disconnection of tracts, or injection of substances through a sterotaxic-guided method in discrete brain areas, such as the dorsal hippocampus or the somatosensitive cortex. Theoretically, as the cortex is superficial, cortical lesions are easiest to induce, since just a craniotomy will be sufficient. I hope I helped you. Good luck!
You might consider stereotaxic infusion of excitotoxins. NMDA at appropriate dose induces focal neurodegeneration of targeted structure. If you are interested into hippocampal damage, kainate injection might work well for you.

If you want to work with prenatal animals, an stereotaxic model with injections, ablations or lesions might me a possibility.
Any cortical or subcortical area can be target using MRI.guided stereotaxic surgery.

You can use hypoxia-ischemia model which I usually use. There are a lot of types in the literature. But first you have to do optimize the duration for apoptotic cells.
