Dear, I would like to do the interdermal injection on the mouse back. I found it is really hard, could someone share their experiences with intradermal injection please? Thank you very much of your time.
Preferably Manteaux syringe can be used. Following the Manteaux technique the needle should be inserted at 10-15 degree angle in the epidermis., just like the vaccination. Some microinjection devices are available (VAX-ID).
Dear Omer Iqbal, thank you very much for your very kind reply. I will try to see if it is ok. The main problem for me is I can not tell what I have done is interdermal or subcutaneously injection....
If you have a doubt as to what you administered was intradermal or subcutaneous, there is one way to know. After you give an intradermal injection, you will generally see a bleb at the site of injection. With the subcutaneous you may not see that bleb unless the volume is too much. So when you administer intradermally using the Manteau syringe and the Manteau technique, see that you get that bleb as you inject. May be you need to do some rehearsals before you actually do the experiment. Good Luck.
Hi Dr. Omer, thank you for your suggestion. I practiced for more than 50 times with your suggestions, and now I think I am ok now. Thanks so much for your kind help. Wish everything goes well with you. A nice thanksgiving day in advance!
I am glad to know that you are now OK with this intradermal technique. I wish you the best. I would like to come visit your labs at University of California at Berkeley sometime in the future if it is possible. Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving. With my best Wishes,
