I am trying to simulate the temperature response of a strip heater. From experiments I found that the temperature response was :
T = 4.2935*log(t+10) + 19.62
t = time (s)
However, comsol says failed to get consistent initial values almost instantly I run the simulation.

can you give more information about the simulation?
The failure on initial value, could come from some incosistency in boundary definition or some value definition in the domain.
Which error do you get?

Most likely your initial values and/or boundary conditions are improperly defined.
Did you define the "T" in Kelvin or Celcius? The initial temperature for the t=0 seems to make inconsistency anywhere in the simulation ...
Thank you all for reply. I used K as temperature unit. To avoid ln(0), I used ln (t+10) instead of ln(t).

Did you try to use an interpolation function directly for the experimental data instead of log function? I think the log function is a possible reason for such inconsistency. May be it works then better. If the solver doesn't start, I would suppose another reason for that but in your case it seems to be starting...
Is this a boundary condition? More information about the model would be useful. Cannot see why log function would create a problem here.
