Is there any anti-cancer agent that no effect on cell survival but do effect other thing to suppress cancer proliferation/migration/invasion?
There should be much in reported literatures, since some of distinct sigaling pathways govern the cell survival and cancer proliferation/migration/invasion. For example, ROCK inhibitor Y27632.
There are many steps in the cell cycle and there are many inhibitors affecting at each steps. To characterize the anti-cancer drugs, there is a need to test the library affecting the type of cancer and cell state without affecting the cell proliferation of normal cell. The dose can be minimized to step down the normal cell affect. Good Luck.
Cellular proliferation (continuous cell growth) and avoid Apoptosis is special character or I may say hallmark of cancer cell. Chemo drugs are made to target cell survival. DNMT Inhibitor & HDAC Inb might help you but cell survival will be effected, use lower dose combination to overcome. or go for Immune therapy target. Drug I think is impossible which you are looking for.
Best is nano particle based drugs which target cells at very specific location it will not effect cell survival, almost negligible. Thanks
