I'm working on multiple drugs and observing their effect on mice locomotor and motor coordination. I'm using the rotarod to achieve this. I would like to know if there is any suggestion on how to analyse the results?
It depends a bit of the design of the experiment.
If you are interested by the effect of a drug, I would analyze trial before and after the treatment using repeated measurement. If you have a more that 8 mice in your group I would go for t-test or one-way ANOVA as rotarod data tend to be normally distributed.
If you repeat the test over multiple time point I will more go then for two-way ANOVA, looking for the group effect (difference from the begining of the test) and the interaction (difference coming with the time).
