I do not think so. From the point of view of the reward system, alcohol and sexual activity are only different reward gains, but the relationship to creativity in their case is not clear and, to my mind, certainly not inherent or deep. Rather, I see a reverse relationship between creativity and the tendency to alcohol consumation or a looser sexual behavior, which is arguably mediated by a third personality variable, apparently of the character of the endophenotype.

Look like, some very difficult question had been asked for guidance.....!!

But actually the answer is easy....only issue seems to be lack of scientifically "proven" references.....

There is a number of factors influencing people mental and physical readiness to a creative work, like food, health, working schedule, sex (s-factor), living conditions, age, alcohol (a-factor), financial status, work environment, etc.

s- and a- factors influence in different ways. An adult's human body is prone to a hormonal pressure reducing abilities for a creative work. Hence, s-factor allows to improve it. Whereas people doing a creative work are prone to a growing over time fatigue pressure. Reasonable, moderate usage of a-factor helps to relatively quickly and along with other measures to remove fatigue.

Usually people know these things as a matter of experience, and choose the most optimal usage of these factors. The ones who cannot stabilize the optimal model should go to visit appropriate medical services for consultations.

Yes, both factors stress/release creativity. However, s-factor is a natural one, whereas a-factor is an artificial habit, so that they have to be managed differently towards the same goal. Certainly, the history of art, sciences, and other usual professions that do not require very high creativity level have a rich experience and data related to it. What I wrote is just the simplest logic to make initial sense on where are we staying at. It's a large field for independent much more serious studies.

A-factor also get formed into living body. Many people use its excessive amount as well from thousands of years. Usually it consider safe as compared with lethal drugs. Although everything in excess quantity have its side effects. Here the point of discussion is that "is there any proven link between use of A-factor on creativity, directly / indirectly ?, even via lucid dreams techniques, controlled hallucination techniques, working-dream techniques etc ? If Yes that what it is and how this a-factor can be used in combination with AI, Robotics, Quantum computing and further applications !?

Second is s-factor, which is set as inborn natural phenomenon, primarily for reproduction. Is it only for reproduction, or it also have some other unknow applications as well? Similarities into birth cycle and knowledge creativity cycle at least can give some clues.... division with new set of genes....... what is the design behind it, and how we can get more deep understanding along new applications toward creativity !?

Apparently, both seem to be due habit, pleasure, harmon pressure, body demands etc....... is that all for A & S factors or still some information is missing, hidden, and need further research !!?

Everybody knows the phenomenon of "Hangover". the morning after to much consumption of alkohol the mind is dizzy, when you lie in bed there is a time of "much dreaming". You slept enough but are tired and with headache so you stay in bed and dream dizzy, in Kind of haze - this is a bit psychodelic.

And as well, everybody knows the reduction of the Inhibition-Threshold as a typical consequence of alkohol. This might be usefull when you discuss in groups, becomming in touch with new people, new ways to regard themes. Everybody knows these phenomenons for example during their study time...

Like the "reward"-discussion it depends on the "mind-set", the intend. The two examples mentioned above might Show that alcohol can increase creative expression but of course it is also possible WITHOUT Alkohol. I mentioned it just to show some connective points.

The s-factor is a bit more difficult: The human sexuality is not only for reproduction. Many mystic shools know the possibilities to enhance energy with sexuality. The most common examples are Tantra and "sexual-magic". Whatever there is behind, we all have our own expreiences and may know (remembering our sexual contacts) that we can feel a sort of energy enhancement or even energy loss. Not for nothing there is a huge debate in the pschotherapy-scene about "postcoital depression" a modern phenomenon because of the destructive mind-set in which many sexual contacts express oneself. The reasons for that is the collateral damage of medial society, the youth contacts to "YouTube-sex" and they belief that these scenes imaging "normal sexuality". And tody we have the first victims (for About ten years the Problem grows and now it is a theme in psychotherapy). But this is another discussion.

Summarizing I just wanted to show, that there is a "connection" between alkohol ans sexuality and "self-expression" or "creativity". But it is just a connection, not a precondition. Because A- and S-factor influences our energy Level, in both directions and furthermore they influence our behavior, two factors influencing our self-expression.

Creativity is in my opinion a natural phenomenon and happens automatically when the energy of life (chi or ki) is in flow or enhanced in some other way.
