Adam B Shapiro, thanks for your reply! Do you advise any suitable procedure to wash the coomassie gel so that it doesn't damage or lose proteins?
e.g.: Ammonium Bicarbonate 50mM/Acetonitrile (50:50), it's a good buffer wash for destain the gel very thoroughly or 5% (v/v) methanol, 7.5% (v/v) acetic acid or multiple washes with water distilled is efficient?
Hi Cristina Coelho , Yes this is possible. We have tried this. I would suggest to do it in the other way around if it is not a problem for you. It will be easy. First stain the cell with the dye and get the imaging done. Then you can de-stain the dye with aqueous ethanol solution and to the Coomassie stain thereafter. Good Luck!
