I have carried out a topology optimization on a part using Abaus, but whether I save the topology optimized part as an stl file or wrl file, I cannot import it into Abaqus to conduct further analysis on that.
I tried to convert the stl file to a CADPart through Catia's Digitized Shape Editor and import it into Abaqus, but after the conversion, Abaqus could not read the file and gave me an error concerning the invalidity and corruption of the file.
(I am using abaqus (6-14) and catia (V5R20))
Anahita Alipanahi Thank you very much for sharing your model. What is the objective of your topology optimization (e.g. weight, compliance, natural frequency)? What are the side constraints of the optimization (e.g. volume fraction etc.)?
I use condition-based algorithm. For objective function, I set the strain energy to its minimum value, and I choose the fraction of initial value for volume as 0.7.
I also freeze both load and BC regions as well as two of the inclined upper surfaces, both vertical surfaces, and the circular inner surface. Moreover, I activate planar symmetry in regard to the zy plane (axis 1 as normal to plane).
(The result or final shape is not that important to me; at this stage, I just want to be able to import the final optimized part to abaqus again.)
