I'm apart of a new biomechanical lab for movement analysis and now on the process of deciding on what to get.
We were also looking to get some IMU sensors (like xsens, CAPTURE.U, APDM , etc..) and having a hard time to decide on which one to get.
I found a paper comparing some of the big brands, which showed a considerable difference between them and between the claim reliability and accuracy and the actual results...
I wonder what is the best possible IMU to get, and what other "must-have", out of the box, equipment you will recommend?

I have been using motion capture system from Qualisys for almost 5 years now, and I can say to you their mocap system is very good, they have a lot of device could sync with their system including some major EMG/IMU sensors like Delsys or Noraxon.
Since, I am also using Delsys as EMG and IMU sensor, I would also recommend you to using that. They have wide variety of EMG sensors and most of them are also equipped with built in IMU sensors. Both of the system (Qualisys and Delsys) is a bit pricey but I think that is worth it with the quality you will get.
So, if you are considering to do some motion analysis with some physiological signal like EMG then buying Delsys system is my recommendation since they have nice EMG+IMU integration.

IMUs nowdays are all quite good, when buying a IMU system what are you paying for is really a software for sensory fusion. You should look what each IMU package includes in terms of software and choose accordingly what you need. I tested IMU systems that used better and more expensive IMUs than most of the companies, but the software was not as good and results were not so useful. We had to develop our own sensory fusion algorithms, which takes a lot of time.
