Cracking in 15-5Ph precipitation hardening stainless steel in cast electrode,, ESR/VAR ingot , post forging cooling and heat treatments in industrial manufacturing of forged semis .Precautions known to me have avoided the problem to large extent , but still not completely solved.

It is difficult to say without knowing your geometry or processing conditions, but I would start by confirming that material and process are correct. For example:
1. Examine the material certifications to confirm the alloy composition is within limits. Impurities congregate at the centerline during rolling operations, which is why short-transverse properties are usually inferior to longitudinal and long-transverse properties. Depending on the degree of working, forging may also cause impurities to congregate in your part.
2. Confirm the processing has been done properly.
a. Verify that the forging temperature has been reached throughout the thickest section.
b. Verify that the temperature did not drop below the "DO NOT FORGE" temperature (~1010°C)

The forger should know this, but mistakes happen, and the die does remove heat from the part.
c. Confirm that post-processing/heat treatment is correct.
I would also examine the geometry of the part to confirm excessive stresses are not created during heat treatment.
