Tell me what is the difference between ZEN and IBFQ quencher? I see the same structure (I attach the image) in different articles, but the name is always different from one article to another - ZEN or IBFQ. I need to understand this, because I need to design probes with double quencher.
In addition, when searching for examples of such probes, I see different names for the quencher at the 3' end and on the internal quencher: /FAM/AGGAACTTC/ZEN/TTAGTGCTCTCCACA/3IABkFQ/ - just for example.
Only difference is one is 3' terminal and the other is internal. Rest is just marketing by IDT.
Just looking at the figures supplied above, the Zen modifier has a phosphate on both of the nitrogen mustard arms, while the Iowa Black FO has a phosphate group on only one of the arms.
