According to a report written by Dr. Dong Choi and Mr. John Casey, the sun is heading toward a Maunder Minimum until the next 20-30 years. And one impact of that solar physics event is lowering sunspot activity which in turn it may trigger a series of major earthquakes. The historical record shows that New Madrid earthquake in 1811-1812 happened exactly during such a Maunder Minimum.

My question: Will there be major earthquakes in the next 10-15 years caused by the Maunder Minimum? How likely are they? What do you think? Your comments are welcome. Thanks
