It's well-known that there are many drugs could induce cell ferroptosis, such as Sorafenib and Altretamine. I am wondering if there will be death duration difference if we use different drugs. If so, would the duration difference be significant? Thanks in advance!

I do not know the specific case but I can say that independent from the final outcome, the time it takes for an agent to exert its effects varies depending on the chemical structure of the molecule (or how the drug is formulated) as well as its mechanism of action. Hydrophilicity and if and how they are transported into the cell are important. Some agents act on receptors on the cell surface while others must first enter cytoplasm to interact with their targets. Some act via phosphorylation cascades, some modify transcription while others rely on degradation of existing proteins to be able to induce the final outcome. Therefore, the answer is yes, depending on your treatment, the outcome may require different durations.
Ferroptosis depends mainly of lipooxidative phenomena and ROS accumulation. If the drug achieves this quickly the process will instal in a short time. For example artemisin derivatives act quicker if iron is added. On the other hand erastin is a very quick ferroptosis inducer and I do not any addition will accelerate death.
