I have 52 woody species in location A and 72 woody species in location B when run an independent t test to compare the mean abundance of woody species of A and B, the result shows each species mean, std, F, t and P values seperately in SPSS should I report each species significance one after the other in an APA format or I used wrong statistical test? kindly help.

1. From my understanding, you have two groups of data in different locations, i.e. they are independent.
2. The sample sizes >30.
3. The uncorrelated or unrelated t-test has to be used to test the means of two sets of scores are significantly different from each other.
4. SPSS procedures for the unrelated t-test are very useful and include an option for calculating the t-test when the variances of the two samples of scores are significantly different from each other.
5. The results of the unrelated t-test is to be provided in a table with two lines.
6. The Leven's test is to be given with unrelated t-test.
7. If the significance value of Leven's test is greater than 0.05, use the first row.
8. If the significance value of Leven's test is equal or less than 0.05, use the second line.
9.If the significance value of unrelated t-test is greater than 0.05 accept the null hypothesis. Otherwise, reject the null hypothesis.

I think you may have done something wrong in the way you set up your data. Location should be in one column and your dependent variable in another. However, I'm not sure if the dependent variable is abundance because you have mentioned specific numbers.
