I have several TGA curves of different compounds showing an odd weight gain/bump. The attached file is an example of some of these curves. I read oxidation can cause this if the purge gas is contaminated, but my curves have a much more dramatic weight gain...

Dear Jawaid,
As you have read in the literature, one main reason for weigjt gain is the oxidation. However, if you can mention the nature of the sample and gas being used in the TGA, I might tell you a eason for the weight gain. Regards ....

@gayanpriyadarshana the sample is copper based and I am using nitrogen gas

Dear Jawaid,
The reaction between the tested material and nitrogen may occur at high temperatures. You can use other inert gas environments, such as Argon.
