Historically, in Pakistan civil-military relations play a very important role in the development nation. For example, it strengthens political system as well as military system. This impact has added value in the development of Pakistan to what extent?
In most of the developing countries, the armed forces are a strong institution with a lot of resources to carry out their activities. In most of these countries, the armed forces play an important role in politics, particularly when the political and economic system are affected by instability and unrest.

However, in addition to what I said before, in some countries armed forces are used to impose military governments or specific political party o parties against the will of the majority of the population or to organize coups d'état against governments that defend the interests of the majority or to support governments of the most powerful minority from the economic point of view. You can see this situation in almost all continents.
I will reflect upon Prof. Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas’ analysis of error in leadership establishment:
A - Confusion and Error in Knowledge
B - Loss of Adab
C - Rise/Election of False Leaders
The condition arising out of (A) and (B) is:
(C) The rise of leaders who are not qualified for valid leadership who do not possess the high moral, intellectual and spiritual standards required for leadership.
Thus whether civilian or military, if the leadership selection process is underpinned by (A) resulting in (B), then nation and national development will be at the mercy of (C).
