Despite tremendous advancement in the field of vaccine design or immunoinformatics, most of the vaccines under trail against novel coronavirus are based on traditional approach. In most of the cases, vaccine candidate is spike-protein or structural proteins; only difference is in delivery of vaccine candidates. In few cases its is delivered via adenovirus in other cases it is via mRNA vector (DNA based). This raise question in my mind, is their any application of epitope-based vaccines design. In the past thousands of papers have been published, number of prediction methods (B-cell, T-cell) have been developed and numerous computational resources has been created. If we are not using these resources in real-life why we are devloping tools for immunoinformatics. I wants to understand from experts, why we can not user advance knowledge for developing vaccines.
