Dear Biswarup Goswami, I forgot to add the following in my previous answer. Oxidation of dextran converts diols to aldehyde, in addition to that, overoxidation converts the aldehyde to corboxylic acid group, and this tells why titration is used to determine the extent of oxidation. My Regards
