I am performing corrosion studies of 316L Stainless steel surface in Phosphate buffer saline medium. I m taking a bare sample and other with some kind of corrosion resistance coating. Now the coating is showing better corrosion resistance as according to tafel extrapolation method (LPR) but I am getting a depressed nyquist loop in EIS for the coating as compared to bare SS316L. Can anyone tell me the reason behind it.
Can a corrosion resistant coating have lower impedance value?
