The characteristic Raman peaks more my compound show a good intensity at lower excitation wavelength but when the excitation wavelength is increased the intensity of the peaks is decreased. The focused region is kept constant. Can anybody help me to justify this behavior?

Raman scattering is proportional to the incident light intensity and the 4th power of the scattered light frequency. So, it's inversely proportional to the 4th power of the scattered light wavelength, or approximately inversely proportional to the 4th power of the incident light wavelength.
