Aucomea klaineaena is an african tree used for its timber However I have observed that the sometimes the log cracks open immediately after cutting the tree. this happens throughout the year ( so I'm guessing its not related to heat) and the age of the plants are 20 to 25 years old.

It is very possible that it is due to the growth tensions, something similar happens in some species of Eucalyptus

The wood usually has high silica content which has a pronounced blunting effect on cutters. Planing and shaping may produce tear out or fuzzy surfaces.

I agree with Dr. Acuna. This fact may be related to the growth stresses of the tree, and after It cutting occurs the cracks in the logs.
