I am doing some photochemical reaction on the electrode and monitor the current produced in this process by chronoamperometry. The potential I set in the working electrode is its potential relative to the reference electrode at open current because I don't need any potential to drive the reaction (only driven by light). What I am expecting is that when I shine the electrode with light, the current will increase from zero to positive. However, what I am observing is that the current changes negative instead. I am wondering can anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks a lot!
