What do you mean? Stars are the source of light. They are sun's, just like our own, and emit photons as a byproduct of the nuclear fusion processes within its core.
See the 'source of light' in a star which means the location where the energy generates through nuclear fusion process is the core. From there, it is transferred to outer layers through the process of convection and radiation.
We can't 'see' the core of even our nearest star: The Sun as well beacuse of the fact that the photons (light) generated at the core will take millions of years to come out of there because of its interactions with the particles there.
It is nearly impossible to see the core of a star, although the neutrinos generated at the core have been detected at earth for some time now.
