Divers definitions for the concepts of productivity and sustainability have been offered by researchers.

· The best definition of productivity divides the concept into two distinct phenomena, the first one is qualitative and the second one is quantitative in nature i.e. availability and profitability. In many industries or firms, the combination of efficiency and effectiveness is defined relative to productivity.

· The best definition of sustainability might be the one that pertains to confining human activity within the carrying capacity of the ecosystem (including materials, energy, land, and water, etc.) prevailing in his locality and which places emphasis on the quality of human life (air quality, human health, and wellness).

After considering many types of researches in different fields of science and engineering, it seems that all scholars want to attain productivity and sustainability in their studies. Can this common approach gain the same results for all science and engineering researches paths?
