I wanted to know that during the design of foundation for the buildings, pressure checks are carried out. i.e.,
Pmax/min = P/A +- Mx/Zx +- My/Zy
If Pmax > SBC (fails in bearing)
Pmin < 0 (tension in soil)
This check is only carried out for RAFT Footing, whereas for others I haven't seen? What can be the possible reason for that?
I'm trying to design COMBINED & STRAP FOOTING.
Your answer will be highly appreciated.

The pressure check is done for all foundations. The sizing of pad footing, for instance, is determined from P/A at service load. May be what you mean is that the pressure due to the out of balance moments (My/I) is not mostly considered in the manual calculations. Most software consider it in sizing of footings.
