BiVO4 suffers poor recombination of electron-hole process. Adhesive force of BiVO4 needs to be improved. Hence before depositing MnOx on BiVO4, I suggest to involve the process of etching or some other technique to improve the surface properties of BiVO4. It may help to improve stability of film.

Do you have any practical suggestion on improving BiVO4 surface properties? (such as etching method, mechanical method, enhancing surface activity...) Sorry that I have no experience on it :(

This is one of mine reference for etching where I obtained good results but this is for WO3. I just suggest you to try this method.
