CAG-RFP-EGFP-LC3 mice are available since 2014, however there are no publications showing their applicability to visualize autophagy in the brain. Since neurons are post-mitotic cells and rely on autophagy, I would expect this investigation to be done as soon as the mice became available (as it happened for muscle cells, the other famous post-mitotic cells in our body). Does anyone know if there are any limitations particularly in the case of the brain? For example the reporter exhibiting too high or too low expression? Thx!
