I am using DMSO treated SH-SY5Y cells for negative control but i get high expression of protein in it. I treated my cells with different toxic drugs to induce Histone modifications but. My negative control should be less expressive while treated cells with high concentration should be highly express but there is no difference in expression by Western blot. Anyone can give me a good suggestion.

Thanks for your reply. Yes cells condition matter but people had already used DMSO as a Negative control with no epigenetic changes but in my case i can see in most of my experiments
