Dear everyone,

I have a question about the difference in the initial voltage of a battery that uses lithium or graphite as the negative electrode.

The voltage of a battery with lithium metal as the negative electrode is around 3 V, while that of graphite is around 0 V. Can you tell me why the initial voltage is different even though there is almost no difference between the standard electrode potentials of the two?
