Our project is on transcriptomic sequencing of fish brain tissue at different salinity conditions. After isolating the total RNA, we did Bioanalyzer. We got no RIN value and the peak pattern was different. What does it mean?? I would really appreciate your help. Thank you

Concentration of 18S is usually lower than 28S after total RNA extraction, but in your case its way too lower.
As per my experience with RNA extraction, the two banding pattern are somewhat tissue specific (single band, high 28S low 18S, or low 28s high 18s)
However, No RIN value means QC failed so not point considering it for downstream analysis. Quality RNA gives RIN value around 6-7.
I would like to see the gel image if you could provide. Best i could suggest is you may consider changing the protocol.
