In many articles graphene quantum dots inter lattice spacing is reported as 0.21 nm and in the case of graphite inter lattice spacing is 0.34 nm. Can anyone suggest any reason for change in this inter lattice spacing between graphene sheets although basic structure is same for both (i.e. graphene sheets staking parallel with each other). I will be really grateful if you can suggest me any article explaining this issue.

Thank you
