Hello everyone,
I have did EIS test on substrate steel of GI steel and GI steel using CorrTest software. I have obtained the Nyquist plots and Bode plots, but the surface of the exposed area to the electrolyte remains without any corrosion. The surface before corrosion and after corrosion is the same (optimal microscopy).
The applied frequency is 100KHz and 50 mHz. The signal amplitude is 10 mV.
However, i have conducted potentiodynamic polarisation test with a potential scanning rate of 1.5 mV/s and scanning parameters as -0.5 V to 0.7 V. There was a considerable amount of corrosion in this test. But failed to see any corrosion during EIS test. Please give me your input as what parameters i need to change in EIS to see corrosion.
Electrolyte = 3.5 w% NaCl
Thank you.
