1mg of testosterone is dissolved in 20 microlitre of DMSO and Methanol respectively. The interpretation showed a positive result. However, when 1 ml of serum free media is subjected to the dissolved solution, it turned into a white dispersed precipitate. Can this be rectified or should we undergo an alternate method to prepare a drug (testosterone) in vitro?

Hey,
most likely you are above solubility in water by using a high concentration of testosterone. The white precipitate that you see is an emulsion. Be aware that the bioavailable properties might change if you expose your cells to an emulsion. You might need a different titration protocol beforehand. Try using a stock concentration in DMSO of lower molarity.
